Home Cleaning : How to clean the inside of the microwave
Exploding butter, lava-like spaghetti sauce, and splattered soup are some of the everyday messes that must be cleaned from our kitchen microwave. Cleaning out the insides of a microwave does not have to be difficult or time-consuming.
* General Cleaning
To clean the inside of a microwave that has not seen a recent food explosion is quick and easy. Most units have removable glass turntables. Remove the turntable, wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. Handle the turntable carefully as they can become slippery when wet.
Before returning the turntable, using a wet dishcloth or sponge, wipe down the entire inside of the microwave including the ceiling. If a few food particles are stuck on, rub free with a plastic scrubbing pad or even your fingernail. Don’t forget to wipe down the inside of the microwave door. Dry with a clean cotton towel or paper towel and replace the turntable. Wipe down the front of the microwave and the keypad too.
* Serious Cleaning

Home Cleaning : Tips for cleaning your wood cutting boards and utensils
by Linda Ann Nickerson
My wooden cutting boards and spoons are my favorite items in the kitchen.
Something about stirring batter with a wooden spoon binds me to my dear departed grandmother, who was an excellent cook.
I love to dig into a tender roast on my wooden carving board and watch the juices run down the channels and collect in the little trough.
HOW DO WE CLEAN OUR WOODEN TOOLS TO PREVENT DECAY AND DISEASE?
First, nothing wooden should every soak in the sink or run through the automatic dishwasher. My grandmother used to tell us, “Water and wood! Uh-uh! No good!”
Water-logged wood will warp, crack, and disintegrate in time.
Wooden kitchen boards and tools must be scrubbed well in warm water. After cleaning thoroughly this way, rub a lemon wedge all over any surfaces that touched food items. Rinse well, and wipe dry.
This way, wooden items will remain fresh and solid for years to come!

Home and garden : How your yard pond vision can come to life
One of the most exciting and rewarding outdoor projects our family has ever undertaken was the building of our backyard pond! What a great family project. It has been educational, fun, and provided hours of entertainment. Our pond has been in existence for the past 4 years and gets more beautiful each year!
The first step in building a pond is choosing an ideal location. Avoid excessively shady areas or areas under trees. Your pond will need sun in order for successful plant growth to occur. Excessive amounts of leaves will result in too much bacteria and will be deadly to fish. Obviously, your location should provide a good view of the pond and maybe a place to sit nearby and watch it. Be sure to check with your utility companies to insure you won’t hit an electric, gas, or water line when you start digging.
