Home Cleaning : How to clean up a kitchen after cooking
by Sandra Nichols
One essential element in cleaning the kitchen after cooking is to make sure that your kitchen is well organized and free of any unnecessary clutter. The last thing anyone wants to do after cooking is to wipe down a bunch of greasy knick knacks.
By keeping items to a minimum it is easy to wipe down the counters, cupboards and appliances. I find that the disinfecting wipes are invaluable for this job. Cleaning as you go is another important factor in cleaning the kitchen after cooking.
If you clean any pots, pans, dishes & counters as you go you will face a much easier job when finished cooking. This makes it more manageable and less overwhelming; who wants to clean 4 pans and a sink full of dishes after slaving over a meal? And if you train everyone to put their dishes in the dishwasher after they are through eating it makes the task even easier.
Spot clean the floor, wipe out the sink, put all hand washed dishes away after drying and you are finished. And the kitchen is clean for the next scrumptious meal to be prepared!

Home Tips : What to expect when you hire a maid
by Shannon Beineke
A maid eases responsibilities at home, but if treated improperly, can cause even more stress than housework. Bringing a stranger into one’s house is no simple task, but there are surefire ways to make the transition a smooth one. The trick is to know exactly what to expect; both of the maid and of oneself.
1. Expect the maid to excel at nobody’s job besides her own. If more than housework will be asked of her, it is especially important to review the full job description before any commitments are made. Chores such as cooking dinner and dog-walking can be assigned, but if requested after the hiring process is complete, a financial negotiation will likely follow. More work means more money for the maid!
2. Since everybody makes mistakes, expect occasional conflict. Most situations can be resolved calmly and maturely. If not, it may be time to find a different maid! Families and employees should respect each other under any circumstances. Maids are not usually desperate for work; they may walk out on those who make them feel insulted. It’s too much trouble to find another one that fits in just right.
